I agree with your first commenters -- haunting and sad, but beautiful in their way too. A true progression of life!

I've always loved the cycles of nature, and this shot perfectly depicts the end of summer. Beautiful...just beautiful.

Sigh, another summer ending. I never like to see them die but on the positive side, they attract lots of lovely goldfinches to eat the seeds.
