Top Reads 2012: The Best of the Rest

I have already given you my Best of Imprint Friday and my Best of Weekend Cooking lists. Here are my Best of the Rest lists.

A few notes:
  • Remember, some of my favorite books (I'm talking about you, Canada) appear on my Imprint Friday roundup.
  • I haven't separated out audio from print or adult from young adult.
  • Click on the links to find my reviews.
  • I failed to keep good records in 2012, so I don't know how many books I read this year.
  • The review indexes on this blog haven't been updated since May. I plan to catch up with those by the end of January.
  • Tomorrow look for the What's in Name reading challenge link-up posts. Regular posting resumes on Wednesday.

I put asterisks by the titles of my favorites on my list of books read this year. I liked so many of them I feel badly I didn't put asterisks on more!

Lots of Candles, Plenty of Cake made my list, too. Fall of Giants is so tempting...

The Lighthouse Road made my top ten for 2012, too. There are a few books I have not heard of here. Thanks for the recommendations.

Happy New Year!

I loved "Pure" too, and I plan on reading The Cove. I;ll have to check out some more books from your list.

Terrific list! When I read your reviews of The Lighthouse Road and Per Petterson's latest offering, I immediately added them to my "must buy" list. Now I need to make time to read them!

Happy New Year to you and yours, Candace!

I recently received a review copy of White Horse, so I'm very glad to see it made your list.

Wow, I missed quite a few of these this year. Super excited about Pure and Birdseye now.

2012 was the year of the reread for me. Outlander by Gabaldon, Sherlock Holmes...I can't remember what else, but there were quite a few gems.

I'm going to keep better track in 2013 -- I've always wondered how many books I actually read in a year.

Happy New Year.

The only book I've read here is the Quindlen! Which is kind of bizarre...we usually have very similar reading tastes. I'm going to have to dig into these...

Have a great New Year!

Oh my goodness. I only read one of these!!!

Such a great list! Several of those titles are on my wish list. I hope you have a wonderful New Year!

I brought Birdseye home from the library for my husband (possibly after seeing your review) and he really enjoyed it. I haven't read a single book on your list yet, but I like the sound of a lot of them. I wasn't sure about reading Pure, but seeing as it made your list...

I only bookmark a select few "best of" lists. Yours is one of them :-)

Jenn's Bookshelves 1/1/13, 6:43 PM

Great list, many I haven't had the chance to read yet!

I go back on forth on whether I should suggest you read Wild. I have Fizzy Jill's voice (or tweets) in the back of my head about how annoying the author is. But the writing really is beautiful.

I hope to read Canada...one day... ;) Happy New Year!

We both had Anna Q's book on our lists … I think it is one several lists I've seen.

And just to let you know, I can't seem to click over using your feed link. I have to go to your site from my reader.
