Today's Read: Calling Mr. King by Rondal De Feo
MizB at Should Be Reading hosts Teaser Tuesdays. Here's how it works: Grab your current read; let the book fall open to a random page; and share 2 "teaser" sentences from that page. For more teasers, click on through to MizB's blog.
A lot of people, I suppose, have a jolly uncle or at least some jolly relative, the kind of character everybody likes to be around. There wasn't one in my family. My family was hard and quiet. Except perhaps for Uncle Ed. You might have called him jolly, but most called him a drunken bum. Sounds like an interesting read. I hope you are enjoying it.
I already like the voice of this character. With two sentences? True testament to good writing. Nice teaser.
This is a fascinating teaser...it makes me wonder about the speaker, he/she doesn't sound too fond of their family and I cannot quite figure out which opinion of Uncle Ed they believe. There's alot here for a tantalizing story...I'm hooked!

Great way to describe one's family, but not one I'd want to be a part of.

Ah, yes, nothing like those warm fuzzy family memories!
It does seem that jolly is usually used when you can't think of anything nice to say about someone. I hope you're enjoying the book.
My family had both those kind of uncles. Looking forward to your thoughts.
Just found this one when I was going through my BEA box earlier today!
Ha! An important distinction to make I would think!
Good teaser.
