Where Have I Been? What's Going On?
In case you're wondering why I haven't been commenting on your blog as much as I used to, here's why:
If you haven't visited the new blog that indexes audiobook reviews from your fellow bloggers, I hope you go take a look. We hope you use the site often to link up your own reviews and to discover some great listens and narrators.
We (my partner in crime Susan aka @AudiobookDJ and I) have received almost 375 review links so far and each one needs to be indexed by author, title, narrator, and genre. And each title also gets a separate post with publishing information and a list of reviewers.
These initial days require a lot of work, but once we've cataloged everyone's backlog of audiobook review links, I'll be back commenting on your blog on a regular basis. I am looking through my feed reader daily, so even though I'm not commenting, I'm not missing out on what you have to say.
Early morning edit: Wow! We now have over 400 links! Thanks everyone.
Upcoming Events
Book Blogger Appreciation Week is coming up: September 13 to 17. The entire book-blogging world, from reviewers to publishers to booksellers, will be participating and so should you! Be prepared for lots of fun, the announcement of the award winners, and daily posts. I'll be hosting four international giveaways of some great books and other bookish items that week plus blogging on the daily BBAW prompts.
I am a member of the 2010 Executive Board and have gotten a firsthand look at how much work goes into making this event a success. I hope you'll be joining in on the fun.
Once you recover from BBAW it's time for the 2010 fall Read-a-Thon. The date has been announced (October 9) and people are already signing up to be readers and cheerleaders. Pick out your books; get ready to play along with the mini-challenges; and read, read, read.
Can't devote the whole day? No worries. You can host a mini-challenge or be a cheerleader during whatever time you have to spare. Can't abandon your family? Get them involved too; lots of bloggers spend the day reading with their spouses, children, and grandchildren.

You have been busy. Plus your regular job!
You're one busy, busy blogger!
I so dig that Audiobook Jukebox. I just finished linking all of my audios this morning. Please don't think I'm obnoxious. Now I just have to keep up with the new ones as they are posted.
Fall is here! BBAW, RIP, the read-a-thon...more fun than one girl can handle.
Sandy and everyone: Please, please, please do link up ALL of your audiobook reviews. The more reviews we have indexed, the better the resource. We are thrilled that you linked up.
Next month our work will be easier...
I have been following the updates on Audiobook Jukebox through Google Reader and I KNOW how busy you have been!! This truly is a valuable resource, especially for those of us who do not have much experience with this reading medium yet.
I am simply THRILLED about the read-athon and hope that I can participate for at least 12 hours. The fact that it happens during the RIP challenge is a double bonus.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend!
I've got a lot more audio book reviews to link to the site, so I'll keep you busy for a little while longer!
I'm excited about BBAW - my interview partner and I have exchanged a flurry of emails. What a great way to get to know a new (to me) blogger!
I'm so happy that you and Susan created your Audiobook Jukebox! The site looks phenomenal, and I've already used it as a resource.
I think you're right ... the workload should slow down once people have linked their backlog of audiobook reviews.
BBAW and the Readthon will add to a busy/fun fall!
Sounds like lots of work for an already busy person!
And I'm ready for fall...there's lots of fun things happening in the blogosphere.
Thumbs up for your audiobook project! I am happy that I *can* read ordinary paper books, but audiobooks meet such an important need.
You have some good stuff on your agenda but you totally forgot the National Book Fest ;)
Michelle: I didn't really forget -- I am going to write about that next week!
Sounds like you have some interesting things going with that audio-book list. And what a lot of work. I still haven't "read" an audiobook in my life, but maybe it is time, what with mp3-formats and all that. Don't have to carry 30 casettes home from the library to listen to an audiobook ;-)
Two highly worthy projects! I keep meaning to link my reviews on Audiobook Jukebox - but haven't found time. One of these days. :)
I love the audio book project! It is so hard to find audio book recommendations so I'll be paying quite a few visits to your new site :-)
