Challenge: Vampire Diaries
Yeah, yeah, I know. . . . There are still challenges I need to finish, there are even challenges I need to start. But when Amy of My Friend Amy suggested this one, I couldn't resist.
This is a multi-media event! We are reading L. J. Smith's Vampire Diaries series (which consists of six books) and are watching the Vampire Diaries show on TV.
The good news is that I like vampire books and I've always wanted to read L. J. Smith. The bad news is that I already own six Smith books -- but in a different series! Oh well, it's not like I ever held myself back from buying books.
If you have an interest in the challenge, be sure to stop by Amy's and check it out.

You are a glutton for punishment! Good luck!
In for a dime, in for a dollar, I always say. You might as well just go for it. And who is going to shoot you down if you don't get to them all? Speaking of which, I don't think there is a chance in hell I am going to finish all the Outlander books by the deadline. I've tried my hardest, but there you have it.
I'm still on the fence about this challenge. I have been driving around with the first two books in my car for a week!
I read it this summer and really liked it! I'll be watching the TV show with you all :D
But on the plus side you can get the first four books in two books since they doubled them up when they rereleased them. Damn Feb 9th is so far away to wait for the sixth one.
I've seen the previews for the new TV show. And I'm on the fence with reading the books because I don't know anything about them. But I love a new challenge. And I love reading. What to do, what to do...
Gotta pass on this one as like you, I have challenges that I haven't even started yet.
Oh I have been seduced... I am so joining this one. mwah hahahahaha
I've joined this one too. I love vamp books and haven't read anything by this author before so thought it would be fun :)
I like the title, but the subject, probably, like you --not so much.
Haha! So you finally decided to sign up, eh? Glad you did...can't wait to get started on this challenge!
You are officially doing this one in lieu of moi. Moi once had a fight with her husband about vampires. That finished vampires for moi.
When I was 13 I loved these books...I read them so much I wore out my copies! When I saw them rereleased 2 years ago I was so happy - and my husband surprised them for me for my birthday. I can't wait for the show!
Have you read The Secret Circle by L.J Smith? Those were the best ones!
Like Myza, I wore out my copies of LJ Smith's books when I was a teen (22 books, I think?), and I used The Secret Circle to turn my reluctant reader baby sister into a bookworm, although of her four trilogies, I think The Secret Circle was my least favorite--which is to say only that I reread that one fewer times than the others.
I'm looking forward to the TV Series. I remember writing LJ Smith a fan letter when I was a teen and receiving a few newsletters from her--and one of the questions she was asked was whether The Vampire Diaries was going to be made into a movie. At the time, the answer was that there were no immediate plans for it, or something like that.
I'd love to take part in this challenge, but all my LJ Smith books are in boxes in my parents' basement, 4000 miles away...
Funny I planned on watching the television show and eventually picking up the books...here's the kick in the butt I need to get the books!
LOL I dunno with Sookie, I might not have the time!
Because, you know, I'm kicking butt at all my other challenges I think I should join this one too! Actually it's the multimedia part that draws me in for it. That and I can likely use these books towards the RIP challenge I'm going to join as well.
haha
