Stop by!
Aw, they look sad. great shot!
You seem to either visit Germany a lot or just love the country because you've had quite a few pictures from there. I love this country and I hope to revisit it one day.
beautiful statutes, but they do look sad! What type of building are they part of?
TexasRed: This was a standalone fountain. Each niche (I think there were six) held a sad child.
Very nice!

The one on the right reminds me of my kids when they were little. Especially the expression on its face!
Both of the statues are sad looking - I wonder what the story behind them is.
Such sad little statues.
Cool photos.
Lovely shot. Happy WW, I played this week too.
They look so real. I love the way the statues are a lighter color from the background. It makes them stand out.
Interesting statues. It would be nice to see all six of them. :)
this is the first time i've seen sad looking statues for a fountain... and i guess, the water droplets are their tears... but sad or happy, these are great photos for we can see the details:)...
Cool fountains. Happy WW!
These look both sad and beautiful! Great pictures!
Beautiful, but the child on the right looks so sad! The one on the left might just be pensive. I wonder what's on her mind--?
Thanks for stopping by my WW post!
P.S. Great idea to include the location where the photo was taken!
Beautiful photos, Beth. They are so similar and yet so very different.
Creative fountain and cute little kids, but I've always thought there was something a little weird about statues of children. They're supposed to be alive, not frozen in stone like us old codgers.
Hi ~ Thanks for leaving a comment over at my place. I almost posted a picture today of a child statue that I saw on vacation in Vt. last summer - changed my mind at the last moment. Excellent details and contrast in your photo. These would make great story starters if I were still teaching.
Adorable!
Very beautiful...and touching.
Happy WW!
I think I missed something. Only one of them looked sad to me.
The one on the left is kind of cute, but the one on the right is downright creepy looking!
such an interesting fountain, I can't tell if they are cherubs or mischeivious children. thanks for stopping by
Very, VERY cool!
Happy WW! :)
Wow! That's awesome!
Lovely statues. Very nicely shot.
I felt sad the instant I saw the pics... I can't explain the reason though :)
What realistic, and yes, sad, faces they have.
These are just great!
So interesting! These would make a great cover for a book of some kind!
Great pictures! Even if I am a little late saying so!
Beth - that is very cool. Our neighbors hail from Germany and go to visit every couple of years. They bring back such wonderful shots like this.
Wow, these shots are beautiful yet kind of creepy!
