What Are You Reading This Week?

J. Kaye at J. Kaye's Book Blog started this idea of posting our reading plans for the week. I'm not sure if I'll stick with this meme (I hate setting myself up for failure!), but I'm going to play along and see how it goes.

If you want to join in, pop on over to J. Kaye's blog, grab the button, and link up.

Right now I'm both reading and listening to Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. The book is written in two voices, which makes for a super audiobook, but I'm also reading along in print because there is a lot to think about.

I have The Killing Tree by Rachel Keener, The Alexander Cipher by Will Adams, Great Dream of Heaven by Sam Shepard, and Dear Julia by Amy Browen Zemser at the top of the TBR.

Book reviews coming up this week are The Beans of Egypt, Maine by Carolyn Chute and Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr.

What do you have coming up this week?

I thought of joining this too but I only read about one or two books a week so my list won't be so impressive. Anyway, just to share am currently reading The Time Traveller's Wife... I enjoying it tremendously...Btw, Wicked Lovely sounds good. Can't wait for the review.

The Killing Tree sounds like a great read. I can't wait to read your review on it. Have a good week!

I would participate in this meme, but you all would grow bored of me very quick. For about the third or fourth week in a row, I'm reading Gone With the Wind and Voyager on audio. I am in total love with both books, however it is driving me crazy to stare at all the other books waiting for me on my shelves! The only thing that varies is what I am reading with my kids, which is "Number the Stars" by Lois Lowry.

Nice list Beth. I've been wanting to read 13 Reasons Why. I can't wait to hear what you think of it.

Good idea reading the book along with the audio. HarperCollins sent me a book and the audio version of it, maybe I'll try that.

I have Melissa Marr's second book for this week. It's better than book I...way better! :)

Looking forward to seeing what you thought of Wicked Lovely!

I have a review of Hot Mama & Jinx by Jennifer Estep coming up this week and I'm SO tempted to just mash them into one review!

Looking forward to what you have to say about Thirteen Reasons Why. Not a book that is my cup of tea, so living vicariously through you.

My book of the week is War and Peace - which would make for a boring post, so nothing today.

Have a great day!

How interesting to read and listen at the same time. I usually only work on one book at time and usually don't finish more than one book per week (unless I'm on vacation then I really get going!). I like this idea of "planning" the week.

I'm doing this one too, it keeps me organized in my mind for what I'm reading next. The Keener and Chute books sound interesting. I'll watch for your reviews. I just finished Little Bee and it was a great read. Enjoy.

I don't think I could do a post like this - my reading is too arbitrary!

Amy 3/24/09, 12:51 AM

I'm looking forward to your review of Wicked Lovely!

Your TBR pile must be growing quickly - you seem to have won about half of the book giveaways I've seen this week - congratulations!

Ms Ulat: I loved the Time Traveller's Wife too!

Vasilly: Doesn't that sound great?

Sandy: That's how I felt when I was reading Cleopatra: almost as if I were trapped!

Nely: 13 reasons is much more than I expected.

Callista: It works well for some books, especially nonfiction and literary fiction.

J. Kaye: I had to read the first before I could start the second!

Ladytink: I know what you mean. I've been tempted to double up at times. I don't know why I don't.

Bookline: Hollywood Boulevard is new to me, I'll be looking it up.

Robin: Enjoy the book or not thru me! My pleasure. War and Peace is heavy going.

Jenners: I don't do this often, but some books call for it.

Sandra: I've heard good things about Little Bee.

S. Krishna: I'm afraid that this meme is going to be a bust for me, but I thought I'd try it.

Amy: just a few days away!!

Farmlane/Jackie: I know, I feel so lucky!!!

The Alexander Cipher?? I am jealous. Can't wait to see your review, when you get to it. You have quite a bit going on there :)
