Award!
Oh my, I am so thrilled to receive this blog award from Sandy from You've Gotta Read This! She's terrific member of our blogging community and on her site you'll find thoughtful book reviews and some cool photographs. Be sure to click on over and check out her blog.
Before passing this award along to five other blogs, I have to list five things I'm addicted to. Sandy and I apparently have the same addictions (are we twins separated at birth?), so some of these will look familiar!
⇒ Cooking: I cook about 300 nights a year.
⇒ Collecting cookbooks: last time I counted I was getting close to 1000.
⇒ Making bobbin lace: I've even gone to Europe to pursue lace
⇒ Viggo: what's a post without him?
⇒ Audiobooks: Love them, especially when I'm in the kitchen cooking
And just to make sure lots of people read this post, here's a random photo of Viggo:
Now to share the award. Here are five blogs I read pretty much every day, be sure to click through and check them out. I hope they become a favorite of yours too.
⇒ Margot from Joyfully Retired
⇒ Nise from Under the Boardwalk
⇒ Gautami from the Reading Room
⇒ Rebecca from Lost in Books
⇒ Dawn from She's Too Fond of Books

Ah, the audio book in the kitchen! That could have been my sixth. I like the picture of Viggo. I was so excited about my award, I forgot to share that little bit of excitement with everyone.
Oh!
I think I was planning to say something else (congratulations, perhaps?) - but then I saw "our Viggo" - and completely forgot :D
Congratulations on the much-deserved award (and I LOVE the button, by the way). I used to love cooking and collecting cookbooks in a former life, but I never came close to 1,000 cookbooks. That is amazing!
Sandy: thanks again -- and I just assumed you listed to audiobooks in the kitchen, too!
Dorte: LOL!!!
Molly: I actually have bought fewer and fewer cookbooks over the last 5 years. It's just so much easier to search the Internet than to start flipping though my books.
1000 cookbooks! Where do you put them all? I hate to show my ignorance, but I don't know who Viggo is.
I have a room with three walls of bookshelves that are pretty much all cookbooks. But cookbooks can be found in most any room and many flat surfaces.
Viggo Mortensen: Apparently you haven't seen the Lord of the Rings movies. He was also in A History of Violence, Hidalgo, A Perfect Murder, Eastern Promises . . . and others.
bermudaonion - Another important piece of information about Viggo Mortensen: he is Danish-American (which we are quite proud of :))
Ooh, I love Viggo Mortensen too!
Wow - Thank you for this award. Coming from you means a lot. I'll add it to my blog in the next few days.
I'm glad Bermuda Onion asked about Viggo. I was thinking cat? - rock star? - husband? I guess I need to get out more.
I didn't know the bobbin lace was a passion. As a knitter I know lace is challenging but bobbin lace - wow!
Oh bless you for posting that picture.
I think we should have a Viggo month where every post includes a photo of him. No apparent reason for this, it just seems appropriate.
Michele / RR: I think you're on to something. Just think how many hits our posts would get!
Thank you so much! SHHH, don't tell my hubby how much you cook.
Ooh, Viggo - very nice picture, Beth!
And close to 1000 cookbooks? If my husband ever hears this, he'll be wanting us to come to your place for a visit :)
Congrats on the award, Beth! Very well-deserved!
Thank you for the award, Beth! I will have my post up today. You have made my face smile! :D
