Friday Finds: Nov. 21
I post my entire list of weekly discoveries on Sundays, but I like to pick out at least one book to highlight for this meme. To see what others found this week, click here.
I'm going to highlight only one book this week, don't know why . . . just the way it is.
Sweet Mandarin by Helen Tse caught my eye. It was reviewed by Kris at Not Enough Books. It's the true story of three generations of Chinese women and what the family had to endure to relocate to England. Read Kris's review, and I bet you add this to your wish list, too. And when you're over at Not Enough Books, be sure to click on the link to the photo of women whose story is told in the book.

That book looks great. I checked out Not Enough Books and found another blog to add to my reader.
I don't know that I'd read that book but I'm off to look at Not Enough Books too!
Great find! Reminds me a little bit about my own grandfather's story. He came to Malaysia from China too, when he was young and penniless, but he ended up managing his own rubber plantation estates. He was pretty famous in his time, but I never really got to know him. I've got his diaries, but they're written in Mandarin. Maybe one day I'll translate them. =)
Wow, Betty! Great story about your grandfather!
First time to your blog and love your banner!
I have only one find this week. My Friday Find is here.
I too had read the review at Not Enough's place and liked it!
Check it out!
Another one for the want-to-read list! The review was good, too - thanks for the link.
I went back to your Sunday post, and added Digging to America and Company of Liars to (my) next week's Friday Finds.
I've had the book on my night-stand but haven't got to it yet. A skim of the blurb told me that I actually ate at the restaurant in England. Valid reason to read the book. Enjoy! :)
This does sound like an interesting read!
My FF post is here.
